Alabama Baseball Sweeps Season Series Against Alabama State
McCants' Stellar Start Continues
Former Ole Miss outfielder TJ McCants has made an immediate impact in his new home at Alabama. On Tuesday night, McCants tied the Alabama single-game record for home runs (3) and total bases (14) in a 15-7 victory over Alabama State.
McCants, who entered the transfer portal this past spring, went 4-for-4 on the night, with all of his hits going for extra bases. His first home run was a solo shot in the first inning, and he followed that up with a two-run homer in the third inning and a grand slam in the fifth inning.
McCants' performance helped Alabama improve to 11-2 on the season and sweep the season series against Alabama State. The Tide will next be in action on Friday when they travel to Baton Rouge to take on LSU.
